Intentions are a powerful tool...and the beginning of a New Year is the perfect time to set them.

As we learn to create and live out of new intentions, we realize our old beliefs, negative thoughts, and stories must be discarded.

An intention is a guiding principle for how you want to be, live, and show up in the world. Intentions are a conscious force that begins a chain of events: our brain reprograms our neural pathways, and connects us with the greater Quantum Field. Repetition is an important part of reprogramming the brain. That is why writing our intentions over and over again is important.

Ask yourself, what matters most to you? Your answer could form a powerful intention, which can guide your actions as you move through your day. When you focus your mind on a specific intention, you are helping to bring it into reality.

When an intention is written clearly over and over, the solution starts to present itself. The mind is trained to focus on finding the solution. In Deepak Chopra’s book, Ageless Body, Timeless Mind, he states that “An intention is a signal sent from you to the field, and the result you get back from the field is the highest fulfillment that can be delivered to your particular nervous system.”

What is the difference between a GOAL and an INTENTION?

Goals are focused on the future. Intentions are in the present moment. Goals are a destination or specific achievement.

Intentions are lived each day, independent of achieving the goal or destination

The following are tips for writing a good intention:

-Consider small intentions...and large intentions.

-Write each intention with clarity. Be specific about what you want, include as much detail as possible.

-Expect results. Keep track of your results. Think of other times in your life when you have gotten results.

-“Let go.” Know that the highest fulfillment possible is in motion.

-Visualize and feel what it will be like when your intention manifests.

-Rewrite your intentions every will see results!

-Journal about the results you receive.

-Practice gratefulness.

Try It!

Write a small intention. For example, “I am going to be kind to everyone I meet today.”

Write a large intention. For example, “It is my intention to bring great books into the world, to share knowledge, and help others to heal.”
