Finding Your Flow!

Psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi's famous investigations of "optimal experience" have revealed that what makes an experience genuinely satisfying is a state of consciousness called flow. During flow, people typically experience deep enjoyment, creativity, and a total involvement with life. You feel completely immersed in an activity. The ego falls away. Time flies. Every action, movement, and thought follows inevitably from the previous one, like playing jazz. Your whole being is involved, and you're using your skills to the utmost.
Waking Up! entails recognizing your "blocks" — those heavy, old and tired negative thoughts and beliefs that keep you stuck. As you become aware of your patterns and desires, you actively engaging in transformation. Each time you engage in new behaviors, you build new neural pathways. You develop a different flow.
Waking Up! brings awareness that the “inner game” fuels the “outer game.” When your inner and outer lives are in alignment, your values and beliefs reflect a deep trust in the universe.
Flow is that coveted place where magic happens. It is the artist fully immersed in painting a portrait or the athlete who engages mind and body in running a race. It actually feels spiritual! The “a-has” just pop into your mind. It’s automatic. Thoughts seem to emerge one after the other. You are no longer in control. You let go. You breathe. You feel. You get lost in the moment.
My epiphanies, my flow, come when I am writing or walking in nature. I see a waterfall, a tree, or acloud and this triggers a feeling that connects the lanes, like a new super highway.
Writing helps to pave your path as you find your flow. Why? Journaling connects your thoughts and pushes you to dig deeper and to reflect on your inner life.
