Angela H. Caughlin, LCSW is a psychotherapist, author and frequent workshop and conference presenter. She has been in private practice since 1993, working with individuals, families, couples and groups. Angela's expertise is in helping individuals and organizations to manage change, particularly as a result of loss.

Angela's journey and subsequent books grew from her own personal experience with loss. She is the author of the books, The Only Way Through, a personal grief memoir, and Journaling Your Way Through, a guided journal to help facilitate writing as a means of processing loss-both published in 2006. She is currently at work on Journaling Through: Unleashing the Power of the Authentic Self, a primer to be published in late 2009, which acquaints the general public with journaling as a healing modality and the power of setting intentions. In this new work, Angela draws upon the exciting breakthroughs in brain science and the impact of the journaling process on the human body.

Angela frequently leads workshops incorporating the principles and benefits of journaling and intention setting as powerful tools for navigating change in one's personal or business life. She is past Program Director of Bo's Place, a children's grief center in Houston, Texas. She also maintains a private counseling practice and has been involved in pilot programs at the Rockwell Foundation and the Transition Medicine Clinic at Baylor College of Medicine.

“If we are ever to give our gifts to the world it has to come out of our own experiences, and not someone else's.”
